The client, a computer vision-based industrial intelligence technology provider, required a modern, secure, and highly available production environment for its application, migrating from its existing infrastructure spread across Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure to a unified environment on AWS. The engagement centered on consolidating the client's compute, networking, and security foundations under a single, well-governed cloud platform capable of supporting reliable, scalable application delivery.
The client's infrastructure was split across GCP and Azure, with individual virtual machines provisioned for different workloads based on varying compute, memory, and GPU requirements. This fragmented, multi-cloud footprint made it harder to apply consistent operational practices and governance across the environment. The client needed a single, well-architected AWS environment that could host equivalent compute resources while ensuring the migration preserved application performance and caused minimal disruption to live services. Running across two providers also made it harder to apply identity management, audit logging, and threat detection consistently, and the client wanted these capabilities centralized and automated as part of the move to AWS. The client needed a partner who could re-platform its infrastructure on AWS with a resilient network design and strong, built-in security monitoring from day one, all while maintaining the same performance characteristics as its original workloads.
Comprinno designed and delivered a dedicated three-tier, multi-availability-zone AWS environment for the industrial intelligence technology provider in the AWS N. Virginia region, built around a dedicated production VPC with public, private application, and private database subnets distributed across multiple Availability Zones. User traffic is filtered through AWS WAF before reaching an Internet Gateway and Application Load Balancer, which routes secure, validated requests to backend EC2 instances running in private application subnets. A NAT Gateway with an Elastic IP provides controlled outbound connectivity for these private instances, keeping them shielded from direct internet exposure. Comprinno mapped each of the client's source virtual machines from GCP and Azure to equivalent AWS EC2 instance types based on compute, memory, and GPU requirements, and provisioned the new instances directly within the client's production VPC with dedicated security groups per instance. Comprehensive account-level security and governance services were layered on top of the compute and networking foundation, giving the client centralized visibility and control across the entire environment.

The client's AWS production environment is anchored by a dedicated VPC spanning multiple Availability Zones, structured into public, private application, and private database subnet tiers for clear separation of concerns. Inbound user traffic first passes through AWS WAF for protection against common web threats before reaching the Internet Gateway, which hands off validated requests to an Application Load Balancer. The ALB distributes traffic across EC2 instances running in the private application subnets, ensuring the compute layer itself is never directly reachable from the internet. A NAT Gateway with an associated Elastic IP sits in the public subnet, giving instances in the private application subnets controlled, one-way outbound internet access for tasks such as patching without exposing them to inbound connections. Each EC2 instance is secured with a dedicated security group and uses an IAM instance profile to enable AWS Systems Manager access, removing the need for direct SSH exposure. Layered above the network and compute tiers, a suite of account-level services, AWS IAM for centralized access control, AWS KMS for credential and data protection, Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring, AWS CloudTrail for audit logging, and AWS Security Hub together with Amazon GuardDuty for continuous security posture assessment and threat detection, gives the client a consistent governance and observability layer across its entire AWS footprint.
By migrating the computer vision-based industrial intelligence technology provider's production infrastructure from a fragmented multi-cloud setup on GCP and Azure to a single, well-architected environment on AWS, Comprinno delivered a secure, resilient, and cost-transparent foundation for its application. Combining a highly available three-tier VPC architecture, right-sized compute migration, layered perimeter and data security through WAF, KMS, Security Hub, and GuardDuty, and proactive cost governance through AWS Budgets, Comprinno gave this industrial intelligence technology provider a production environment built to protect, scale, and support its business reliably going forward.
