About Mantle Labs
Mantle Labs is at the forefront of addressing climate change by leveraging advanced remote sensing and AI-driven analytics, focusing primarily on the forestry and agricultural sectors. The company aims to provide stakeholders with valuable, data-driven insights that promote sustainable development. By integrating cutting-edge remote sensing data with robust environmental science and AI techniques, Mantle Labs empowers businesses, governments, and communities to make informed decisions that positively impact the planet.
To streamline the registration of projects within the Nature Based Carbon Markets, Mantle Labs focuses on efficiently processing and analyzing the extensive information compiled in Project Design Documents (PDDs). The evaluation of these documents is critical, as it determines whether a project can advance to the issuance stage of carbon credits. This process involves a comprehensive analysis of projected carbon sequestration, financial viability, and community impact, typically spanning 8-14 months—a period during which investors remain uncertain about the project's approval.
Mantle Labs has launched an innovative Project Design Document (PDD) generation module within its carbon platform, Geotree. This module aims to streamline the creation of PDDs necessary for registration in Nature-Based Carbon Markets. It begins by ingesting initial project conditions and detailed project data into a standardized template, encompassing essential environmental, financial, and socio-economic information relevant to each project.
The process begins when the user inputs the required data fields necessary for creating the PDD. Based on this user input, the system dynamically retrieves a comprehensive data corpus from regulatory bodies and external agencies using APIs. This data often consists of large files that can extend into thousands of pages. The data is stored in Amazon S3 bucket.
To manage this extensive information effectively, the data undergoes chunking, and embeddings are generated using the embedding module in AWS SageMaker. These embeddings are then stored in AWS OpenSearch, which functions as the Vector Database, enabling efficient search and retrieval.
After the data is processed and the embeddings are generated, the next step is to create the final PDD. This process involves:
