Welcome to AWS Managed Services (AMS), infrastructure operations management for Amazon Web Services (AWS). AMS is an enterprise service that provides ongoing management of your AWS infrastructure.

AWS Managed Services (AMS) helps you adopt AWS at scale and operate more efficiently and securely. We leverage standard AWS services and offer guidance and execution of operational best practices with specialized automations, skills, and experience that are contextual to your environment and applications. AMS provides proactive, preventative, and detective capabilities that raise the operational bar and help reduce risk without constraining agility, allowing you to focus on innovation. AMS extends your team with operational capabilities including monitoring, incident management, AWS Incident Detection and Response, security, patch, backup, and cost optimization. AWS Incident Detection and Response is available in English for workloads hosted in eligible AWS regions.

This user guide is intended for IT and application developer professionals. A basic understanding of IT functionality, networking, and application deployment terms and practices is assumed.

AMS implements best practices and maintains your infrastructure to reduce your operational overhead and risk. AMS provides full-lifecycle services to provision, run, and support your infrastructure, and automates common activities such as change requests, monitoring, patch management, security, and backup services. AMS enforces your corporate and security infrastructure policies, and enables you to develop solutions and applications using your preferred development approach.

The AWS Managed Services (AMS) provides comprehensive support and management for various AWS services, offering features such as logging, monitoring, guardrails, and event management. AMS configures and monitors environments, provides continuity management through backup and restore functionalities, ensures security and access management, handles patch management, change management, automated and self-service provisioning management, incident and problem management, reporting, service request management, and service desk support. Each customer is assigned a Cloud Service Delivery Manager (CSDM) and a Cloud Architect (CA) for personalized assistance. Additionally, AMS offers developer mode for direct access to AWS services APIs and the AWS console. Customers can choose their level of AWS Support, and AMS also supports customer-managed accounts and provides optional managed firewall solutions.

2: Assessing Your Cloud Needs

The CRM process includes these activities:

  • Identifying and understanding your business processes and needs. Your agreement with AMS identifies your stakeholders.
  • Defining the services to be provided to meet your needs and requirements.
